Ah man ... what a day ! Despite Mother Nature doing her very best to hamper proceedings Natalie and Shaun's big day was epic ! The intermittent heavy rain actually allowed me to get some fairly unique shots - more on that later - scroll down and you'll see. I worked fast between frequent showers to make sure I came away with everything I needed so those memories could be captured forever.
Anyhow, it was my first time at Jabajak - a unique vineyard set unexpectedly in deepest rural western Carmarthenshire - it was a treat. I just couldn't resist capturing as many pics as I could of the couple and their guest in front of the beautiful gnarly vines. It was truly an awesome day as you'll see from checking out the 100+ pics from the couple's day.
Hope you like what you see, thanks for looking ...
After Becky and Alex's awesome pre-wedding shoot (click here) I couldn't wait to cover their big day. Despite Mother Nature's efforts at giving us a wet September day Jon and I made the most of sunny interludes to get some absolutely beautiful images the couple can cherish forever. We set off for the beautiful Oxwich Bay Hotel, I made my way to school house where I documented Becky and her bridal party's preparation whilst Jon covered Alex and his groomsmen's prep. Following the formal service and some touching readings the wedding party made its way into the marquee which had been dressed amazingly. After the well wishing speeches and some amusing images shown Jon and I took the couple to the beach just before the sun disappeared - I'm overjoyed with what we came away with !
Anyway at the risk of rambling on, you're here to see the pics - here's a 100+ from their awesome day ! Thanks for looking,
I just had to a share a few beautiful images from this awesome family shoot in All Nant Y Ci in Ammanford. Autumn wasn't quite yet on full display but none the less we managed to capture some lovely colours in the background behind this beautiful family.
I absolutely can't wait to shoot Laura & Martin's wedding next July - it's gonna be awesome !
Laura and Nathan's wedding at Plas Hyfryd, Narberth was an absolutely awesome celebration !
Thankfully, the forecasted early early September rain largely stayed away !
I started off by covering Laura and her bridal party's preparations at the hotel, before moving downstairs to shoot a few frames of Nathan and his groomsmen. Following a beautiful ceremony, we made full use of a break in the weather to take all of the formal group shots immediately across the road from the venue. After the food and speeches Laura, Nath and I made our way to Narberth Castle for some couple portraits as the sun was getting lower in the sky.
I had an absolute ball covering their day, and am most proud that I was trusted to have covered another Laura's sisters wedding as well (link here). Anyhow, at the risk of rambling on check out the 100+ frames below which should give you a good feel for how the day unfolded. Hope you like what you see - thanks for looking ...
Just had to share some frames from Georgia and Chris's fantastic wedding from mid November '18. I started out at Georgia's grandparents home in Rhydargaeau to capture the bridal party preparations for the day ahead before making my way to the local church to catch up with Chris and his groomsmen ahead of the service. After a beautiful ceremony we captured all of the family pics in the grounds of the church where the colours of autumn were in full bloom, we caught it just in time before the heavens opened - result ! Before a quick stop at a rustic barn to capture some portraits of the newly weds we made our way to The Plough for the reception. It was a truly fantastic and fun filled day ! Take a peek at the 100 or so images below which should give you a good idea of how the day unfolded ...
I hope you like what you see, thanks for looking !
I'm pleased to say that after an unprecedentedly busy autumn wedding season topped off by a relocation of Gareth Scanlon Photography HQ from Swansea to Ammanford, I'm now catching up with my blogging and social media contact. Here's a few frames from Daryl & Jenna's awesome September wedding at Norton House smack bang in the middle of Mumbles. Jenna was getting ready at the venue which makes for totally seamless coverage of her and her bridal party's prep whilst still being able to capture the arrival of Daryl, their guests and the ceremony hall details. Following their ceremony we walked just outside the venue to the Swansea Bay Promenade where the well known train taking visitors back and forth from Swansea to Mumbles stopped to allow us to take some pics - amazing ! The afternoon brought damper weather, regrettably not enough for a rain shot - but by then all of the important pics and memories were in the bag !
It's 11am - let me start how I mean to go on - more social media engagement ! Holding that thought - I'm going to kick 2019 off with a collection of images from Zoe & Shaun's awesome wedding in Oldwalls during the last week of September. The weather shined brightly through the entire day to allow me and Jon (of Cross-Jones Photography) to come away with a huge of images for the happy couple. I started the day by making way to the their family home to capture Zoe and her bridal party's preparation for the day ahead whilst Jon covered Shaun and Riley's preparations. Following a beautiful service we found two spots to give slightly different looking family portraits, namely in front of a barn and then in a shaded area of open countryside backlit by the sun - lovely.
Anyhow, here's a few frames which should give you a good idea how their fantastic day unfolded. Wishing you all a happy, healthy and prosperous New Year ! Thanks for looking ...
Just had to write a little post to showcase this beautiful little shoot shot during the golden hour at Clyne Valley Trail just outside Swansea. The right was just absolutely fantastic - bright and warm - which makes for the most beautiful portraits and backgrounds - I was absolutely delighted !
Anyhow, here's a few frames from the shoot with Abi, Mike and Flo ... just absolutely had to share them !
Running your own business is demanding and tough, and whilst I absolutely love what I do, it sometimes means I sacrifice doing the things I want and need to do, particularly for my close friends and family. My Mam has been hinting for absolutely ages that she would love some up-to-date pics of her and my Dad, so I planned ahead and put time aside to shoot an evening session for her on her birthday ...
So ... to the wonderful support I get from Rachel, my family and my friends.
Happy Birthday Mam - I love these pics hope you will too ...
